Special characters
ASCII ( i/ˈæski/ ASS-kee), abbreviated from American Standard Code for Information Interchange, is a character-encoding scheme (the IANA prefers the name US-ASCII). ASCIIcodes represent text in computers, communications equipment, and other devices that use text.
It might be helpful to remember some of the codes, such as copyright etc. but you don't have to memorize everything. There are many links you can find online here is one of them: http://www.ascii.cl/htmlcodes.htm

There are also a lot symbols (dingbat) you can use on the web. Some browsers may not support all the HTML5 entities. IE11 and Firfox 35 do support all HTML5 entities. If the browser you targeted doesn't support HTML5 entities, you can always use the old fashion dec and hex.
